Teaching Methods

Delivering More Than Just a Lesson

IMG_0296.HEIC

Limitless Skies is a phrase that perfectly complements the teaching methods at Satit UDRU. Teachers consistently demonstrated a complete balance of unending innovative teaching methodologies and traditional pedagogies. Collaboration among the students was highly reflected on the walls of each classroom as the students laughed, excelled, and shone as the teachers ensured an inclusive and fair learning environment full of various activities and interactive presentations. Their approach encouraged students to soar beyond conventional boundaries, explore their full potential, and embrace the vast expanse of knowledge.

Kru Watcharaboon Wiboon

A Person Who Goes Above and Beyond

It is more than just the best lesson delivery, the great classroom management, or even the preeminent activities that I learned best from my Cooperating Teacher. Kru Dee thought me lessons I cannot learn in college or even if I read all the journals discussing on how to deliver a topic and be a good teacher. He thought me not just how to act as a teacher but how to be one. From classroom management, personal problems of students, guidance on writing their essays for universities to accompanying a student to hospital after being bitten by a dog, he was there. As a parent, as a nurse, as guardian, as a mentor, as teacher. I learned best from him that being a teacher doesn't end as you close the workbook or turn off the projector as the 50-minute class ends. Being a teacher starts the moment you go step into situations you can be useful of. Being a teacher starts the moment you decided that you are willing to go above and beyond for your students. I do not know when I will meet Kru Dee again but I'll forever be grateful for the values he instilled within me that I'll always carry as I embark my journey of being a teacher. Kru Dee, if you're reading this, thank you for the random fact-sharing and cultural exchange during our free time or while eating ice cream after lunch.

Learning Materials and Innovation

Innovation Inside of What's Familiar

A pile of books on my table welcomed me as I entered the faculty room. “Oh, traditional learning, it is”, I whispered to myself. However, as I wandered through the pages of the Spotlight and Flash Workbooks, I was mesmerized by how technology was embedded in each paper of the books. Audio recordings, video presentations, and innovative technological activities were present in each lesson capturing localization and contextualizations through encouraging students to recall personal experiences and values.

Learning and Technology

Fostering Teachers' Adaptability

Traditional teaching methods and advanced technological strategies gracefully danced together every time a teacher managed the class. Though most of the activities that drive the class hour came from textbooks and workbooks, they were always delivered most unexpectedly using technology. Access to online information and technological tools has been a great influence in delivering the lesson in the most interesting way possible.
